About

Erika Diaz Pospichal is a visual artist born and raised in San Diego, California. She earned her bachelors degree in visual art at the University of California, San Diego in 2013. Her mediums of choice are oil paint, digital drawing, and printmaking. She is interested in the remnants from the 1950’s, taking photos, and plants/gardening. She is fascinated by found objects from estate sales and flea markets. Erika is currently a full-time artist and small business owner in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Erika’s paintings are inspired by things of the past, whether it be a tangible object, a memory, or a photograph capturing a fleeting moment. Current works in progress are reflective of vintage photographs calling on details of childhood memories. Memories that can have the potential to exploit the deepest, darkest, secrets.

The relief prints and digital drawings are quick, abstract/geometric designs that break from the longer and tedious layering of oil paint.

Erika adores the outdoors, monarch butterflies, plants, laughing, memories, pickled vegetables, and tiki drinks.
